As the title states, we have a blog now. I realize that one would want the first blog post to be inspiring and/or humorous; something to commemorate for posterity and have to show to all and sundry when one joins the ranks of the rich and famous---but I usually leave that sort of writing to Kate. As my sister is currently preparing to go back to teaching, however, the task falls to me.
This is our third year in business, and we would like to thank everyone who has helped us get this far. We couldn't have made it without the support and encouragement of our family, friends, and customers. You have stayed with us throughout our opening with only 1/4th of the shelves complete; our frantic building of the other 3/4ths of shelving; our trials and tribulations; our attempts at managing a bookstore while one of us teaches and the other runs off to dig holes for weeks on end; and, perhaps most importantly, our chasing our life-long dream. We would especially like to thank you for your patience and understanding on behalf of that last one.
In three years, we have seen our bookstore grow into a place that not only sells books and tea, but a place where people can stop by to chat, have book discussions, author signings, rehearse plays, film short movies, or bicycle to because they know we've seen the latest geeky film and are more than happy to talk about it. Again, thank you.
As for the future, keep checking this website. We'll keep it updated as to the goings-on of the shop.
Here's to books, tea, and days to come.
